Who we are

The Urban Dori (“we”, “us”) is a small handicraft studio run by Saloni Bajaj (sole proprietor), based at Sector 31, Gurugram, Haryana 122001, India. GSTIN 06GKZPS0528C1ZS.

What we collect

• Order info: name, phone, email, shipping address.
• Payment info: we never see or store your card or UPI details. Payments are entered on HDFC Bank’s secure SmartGateway hosted page; we only receive a payment confirmation and transaction reference from the bank.
• Site analytics: aggregated, cookie-less visit data via Plausible (no individual tracking).
• Communications: WhatsApp messages and emails you send us — kept for as long as needed to support your order.

How we use it

• To process and deliver your order.
• To send order updates over WhatsApp / email (you can opt out anytime).
• To respond to support enquiries.
• To meet our legal obligations under Indian tax law.

Who we share it with

Only with the partners who help us deliver your order:

• Courier partners (Shadowfax, Delhivery, BlueDart, India Post) — name, phone, address.
• HDFC Bank SmartGateway — secure payment processing only.
• Our cloud database & hosting providers — to store and serve your order securely.
• Cloudinary — product imagery (no personal data).
• Plausible — privacy-friendly site analytics (no cookies, no personal data).

We never sell your data, ever. No third-party advertising pixels are loaded on this site.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for 7 years to satisfy GST and accounting requirements. Support conversations are kept for 1 year. Anything else, we delete when we no longer need it.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

• Show you what we have on file.
• Correct anything that’s wrong.
• Delete your data (subject to legal record-keeping).
• Stop sending you order-related comms.

Cookies

We use one cookie (urbandori-cart) to remember items in your cart between visits. That’s it. No tracking cookies, no third-party cookies.

Your data rights (Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023)

We collect only the personal data needed to process your order and respond to your enquiries: name, contact details, delivery address, and order history. Payment card/UPI details are processed by our payment partners and are never stored on our servers. We use cookieless analytics (Plausible) to understand site usage. We retain order data as required under Indian tax law and enquiry data for up to 24 months.

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, or withdraw consent for non-essential processing, by writing to theurbandori@gmail.com with the subject “Data Request”. We respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate to our Grievance Officer or to the Data Protection Board of India.

Children

Our site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If we update this policy, we’ll change the date at the top. Material changes (new processors, new data collected) will be highlighted on the homepage for at least 30 days.
